5 Habits of an Elite HBIC

Uncategorized Nov 15, 2019

Have you ever noticed that when you’re feeling a little off, your professional presence/work quality is equally a little off? Yes, this could be in part by a common cold but I’m talking about going a little deeper. Think of a time where you were feeling a little sluggish before work, which then translated into your work day. Remember how tired and annoyed you felt? I know it’s probably more factors than just one but my point is, is that your current health (both physical and mental) DIRECTLY impacts your professional presence and work quality. Now let’s flip the scenario, go back to a day at work that you walked in there super pumped, excited for the day, and ready to take on a big presentation. Remember how good that felt? Remember how you started your day?

Now let’s take this to the next level! This article is about the 5 Habits every Elite HBIC (aka women in business who mean business) should be doing each and every single day to level up both their personal health status which translates into their professional presence.

Habit #1: Fitness

Now, this is NOT about killing yourself for hours on end at a gym before or after work. As a modern working woman, time is of the essence. This habit is about GIVING yourself at least 30 minutes a day to move your body, clear your mind, and to set the tone for the day in order to be that top performer in your career.

Pro Tip: Without leaving your home, set your alarm 45 minutes before your usual wake up call to get in a quick run or even a quick in home circuit you can do before going to work. Just think about how that 30 minute workout will completely change the tone for the day as well as imporove your body composition when applied each day.

Habit #2: Nutrition

How many times have you hit the vending machine, ordered take out, and/or just skipped a meal because work was nuts? Probably more times than you’re wiling to admit. But think about how that single meal (or no meal) impacted your day. Did you feel as though you were running on empty? Did you feel a little bloated or lethargic? As an Elite HBIC you should think about your nutrition as your gas tank. Those meetings and phone calls need to be fueled by QUALITY foods that properly nourish your brain and motor functions to make sure your work quality is at peak performance.

Pro Tip: It’s just not feasible to eat home cooked meals each day as a working woman. Try finding a healthy prepared meals service that delivers cooked, boxed, fresh meals right to your door. I will attach my preferred service at the bottom of this blog. Think about all the time you will save while making sure you are eating quality foods that fuel your workday. If not a meal service, try to plan your meals for the week and prep as much of it as you can.

Habit #3: Master Mindset

This one is HUGE so pay close attention. How do YOU view yourself as a professinal woman in business? What does the voice inside say about yourself? Do you view yourself as that cofindent boss babe that deserves a raise, a chair at the head of board, a woman deserving of a promotion? Your mindset MUST align with the mindset of a confident, no B.S., ambitious woman who both meets and exceeds all requirements of her in her professional environment. Make sure you’re talking about yourself in the highest most respected way possible as this master mindset is what’s going to propel you to the top.

Pro Tip: Each day write 3 things you’re GREAT at, it doesn’t have to be just for work. Make it a conscious effort to speak highly to yourself about yourself. Remember all the steps it took you to be where you are at RIGHT NOW! If that’s not impressive, I don’t know what is.

Habit #4: Spiritual Wellness

I’m not saying you must attend church on Sundays but if that’s you’re groove, stick to it. This requires a deeper connection of YOURSELF. What do you do for you? Are you taking 5 minutes to yourself just to breathe, be mindful, or perhaps even meditate? How are you making sure you’re emotional wellness is just as healthy as your physcial wellness? In NO WAY is it selfish to do things for yourself. As a woman in business you run around all day doing things for others and your comapny, make sure you’re returning the favor to YOURSELF.

Pro Tip: Time to make that appointment for that massage you’ve been wanting for 3 months now. Go ahead, BOOK IT, RIGHT NOW. You DESERVE that hour to yourself.

Habit #5: Goal Setting

Girl, how the heck are you going to get where you want to go if you don’t even know how to get there? Goal setting is part of almost every Monthly company meeting so why not make this part of YOUR Elite HBIC Personal meeting? As a woman in business I’m sure you have places you want to go and need to get to. You’ve fought your way to get where you are now, so why stop now? Never settle and always be hungry to grow in both your personal and professional life.

Pro Tip: Each Month set 3 Personal Goals and 3 Professional Goals you want to accomplish that Month. Make sure you keep these goals somewhere you can see them each day in your climb to the top.
